What volunteer roles are available at Journey Thrift?
We have two different roles in our volunteer team. Please read the descriptions below for more information.
Cashier - Offering a warm welcome and interacting with a diverse community of customers is an essential part of this role! Our cashiers help customers make purchases, they answer inquiries, and they help shoppers navigate our store. Cashiers also maintain our cash desk area and help with filling and tidying displays and general front-of-store maintenance.
Backroom - The volunteers in our backroom are responsible for accepting, sorting, pricing, and putting out the hundreds of donated items we receive each day! This role requires flexibility, critical thinking, patience, and collaboration. Backroom volunteers typically work in small teams of two or three people and move between the backroom and the sales floor, depending on the tasks at hand.
